  • Oversee APIs and data flows with controls for authentication, transaction integrity, reconciliation and error handling
  • Manage security infrastructure and develop IT, cybersecurity, data protection and continuity policies; support audits and regulatory compliance
  • Select and manage vendors and technology partners, and monitor service levels and value for money
  • Prepare technology plans and budgets, and report progress and risks to senior management and the board
  • Identify opportunities for digital innovation, including the responsible use of AI for client education, staff learning, support and efficiency

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related field

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain technical topics to non-technical audiences
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Fluent English, written and spoken

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree in an IT-related field or an MBA
  • Experience in microfinance, financial services, core banking, mobile money or other transaction-based environments
  • Certifications in project management, service management, cloud computing or cybersecurity
  • Experience applying AI to create business or client value beyond software development, particularly in financial inclusion
