QA Team Leader

About the Role

We are looking for a forward-thinking QA Team Leader to head, mentor, and scale our quality assurance team. In this role, you will be the driving force behind modernizing our QA ecosystem. You will oversee the testing of our complex data systems, champion advanced test automation, and actively integrate AI-driven testing processes to keep our engineering organization at the cutting edge.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership & Mentorship: Guide, mentor, and grow a team of manual and automation QA engineers. Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture.
  • QA Strategy & Tech Innovation: Evaluate and introduce next-generation QA technologies, advanced automation frameworks, and modern testing methodologies.
  • AI Integration: Pioneer the adoption of AI-driven testing processes (such as AI-assisted test generation, self-healing test suites, or automated data validation tools) to optimize efficiency.
  • Data Systems Quality: Oversee robust end-to-end testing strategies for highly complex data pipelines, databases, and backend infrastructures.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Engineering, Data, and Product leaders to align QA strategies with business goals and streamline release cycles.

What We’re Looking For

  • Leadership Experience: Proven experience leading, mentoring, or managing QA teams in agile environments.
  • Automation & Tech Savvy: Strong technical background in advanced automation frameworks (e.g., Python, Java, or TypeScript-based tools) and API/backend testing.
  • Data System Expertise: Deep understanding of how to test complex data systems, ETL flows, and large-scale data structures.
  • AI & Innovation Enthusiast: Active interest or hands-on experience in implementing AI technologies to improve QA workflows and test coverage.
  • Languages: Full professional fluency in English, as well as proficiency in Azerbaijani and/or Russian for local team collaboration.
